Tool preparation:
Soft ruler (best for tailors, soft and easy to fit to the head);
Alternative solution: Non elastic rope+ruler (measure the length by wrapping the rope around the head);
Recording tool: paper, pen or mobile phone, used to record numerical values.
1. Positioning measurement location
Find the widest part of the head: usually located about 2.5 centimeters (about 1 inch) above the eyebrows, passing
through the top of the ears and the most prominent part of the back of the head (occipital protuberance).
Tip: If unsure, use your fingers to lightly press along the eyebrows towards the top of your head to find the horizontal
circle with the largest head circumference.
2. Wrap the tape measure
Place the starting point of the tape measure in the center of the forehead (above the eyebrows), hold the tape measure
with both hands and wrap it around the tips of the ears and the back of the head, ensuring that the tape measure is on
the same horizontal plane and not tilted from the ground.
be careful:
The tape measure should be tightly attached to the skin but not too tight (to avoid compressing the hair or scalp);
Long haired individuals should flatten or separate their hair to avoid fluffy hairstyles affecting the data.
3. Read numerical values
Check the intersection point value of the tape measure at the starting point of the forehead, accurate to millimeters
(such as 53.5 centimeters).
Repeated measurement: It is recommended to measure 2-3 times and take the average to reduce errors.
4. Alternative method without a tape measure
Wrap a rope around the head, mark the intersection points at both ends, straighten it, and measure the length with a ruler.
By following the above steps, you can accurately measure your head circumference.
